How to Measure
Let's make sure an inside mount will work for your window!
Using a metal tape measure, first check if you have sufficient depth:
Measure inside the window opening from the back of the window to the front of the opening where the shade would mount. A minimum inside-mount depth of 2" is required for all three top-treatment options.
For a fully flush inside mount, the required depth is:
- Aluminum Valance: 3 3/4"
- Fabric Insert Cassette: 3"
- Exposed Roll: 2 5/8"
A fully flush mount means the selected top treatment is completely recessed within the window opening. If your window does not have sufficient depth, the shade may still be suitable for a partially recessed inside mount, or you may choose an outside mount instead.
How to Measure:
Let's start with the Width:
- Measure the inside width of the window opening from left to right at the top of the opening to the nearest 1/8". If rounding is necessary, round down to the nearest 1/8". That is your ordering width.
Now, let's do the Height:
- Measure the inside height of the window opening from the top of the opening to the bottom of the opening or sill to the nearest 1/8" in three places: on the left-hand side, the middle, and on the right-hand side. Write down all 3 measurements and circle the tallest. That is your ordering height.
Note: Always provide us with the actual measurement of the window opening. We will make the necessary deduction of approximately 3/16" to the width of the top of the shade to accommodate the installation brackets.
No deductions will be made to the ordered height.

Before you start measuring, decide where above your window opening you want to mount your shade. The minimum flat vertical mounting space depends on your selected top treatment:
- Aluminum Valance: 3 1/8"
- Fabric Insert Cassette: 3 3/16"
- Exposed Roll: 2 3/16"
Follow the instructions below based on where you plan to install your shade.
If you do not have sufficient vertical space for mounting the brackets, please see our inside mount instructions or consider a different product.
Your ordered width will be the "tip to tip" measurement, which is the widest part of the top of the shade including the brackets and cassette valance (if applicable). If you wish to have the fabric cover a specific width, we recommend ordering slightly wider — just ensure that you have enough horizontal space to mount the shade.
Above the Window (No Trim) ›
Width:

Above the Trim ›
Width:

Note: The shade fabric may rub against the trim when operating. If your trim is more than 1/2" thick, consider adding shims (not included) under the brackets for additional clearance. If your trim is 3/4" or thicker, we recommend using an extended slotted bracket.
On the Trim ›
Width:
We don't normally recommend mounting roller shades directly on the trim unless your window configuration doesn't allow for other placements. Your ordered width will be the bracket-to-bracket measurement, which cannot exceed the width of your trim. However, the fabric portion of roller shades is always narrower than the ordered width, and will not extend to the edges of the trim.
Confirm that the height of your trim is at least the minimum height required for installing the mounting brackets. At the top of your window, use a steel measuring tape and measure from outer edge to outer edge of the trim. That is your ordering width.
Note that the fabric portion of the shade will be narrower than your ordered width.
Height:
Measure from the top of your trim to the bottom of your trim or to the top of the windowsill if you have a protruding sill. That is your ordering height.
Door Mount ›
Width:
Using a metal tape measure, measure left to right from the outside edge of the trim piece that goes around the glass to the other outside edge. That is your ordering width. However, if you have space, it is best to order the shade about 2-4" wider for better light control.
Height:
Consider how far above the window trim piece you would like to install your shade but at least starting with the minimum vertical space referenced above. Measure down to where you want the bottom of the shade to be, using the same extra space below the window trim piece as you used above. That is your ordering height.

Important Notes
- Custom shades may have a manufacturing tolerance of approximately ±1/8".
- Always provide your actual window measurements. Do not make your own factory deductions; we will apply the appropriate deduction based on your selected mount and configuration.
- For outside-mounted shades with an exposed roll, the mounting brackets will remain visible.
- Inside-mounted shades will have normal side gaps between the fabric and the window opening due to the operating mechanism. For greater coverage, consider an outside mount.
- Fabric color may vary slightly between dye lots. For the best color consistency, order shades for the same room at the same time.
Cassette & Chain Details
- Continuous cord loop shades include a safety tension device, which must be installed to keep the chain secured and prevent loose hanging loops.
- Aluminum Cassette: the cassette, bottom rail, and bead chain are coordinated in the same selected color.
- Fabric-Insert Cassette: features a white frame with matching shade fabric inserted on the front, paired with a wrapped bottom rail and white bead chain.
- Wrapped Cassette: features an aluminum cassette wrapped in the selected shade fabric, paired with a matching fabric-wrapped bottom rail.
Motorization Options
We offer three motor options depending on how you would like to control your shades. All three motor options can be paired with a compatible remote control. Remote controls are sold separately.
Basic Motor
- Controlled by remote only.
- Does not support app or smart-home control.
Zigbee Motor
- Requires a compatible Tuya Zigbee Hub, which is not sold by SenseBlinds and must be purchased separately.
- After pairing with the Zigbee Hub, shades can be controlled through the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app.
- Supports compatible smart-home integrations including Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, SmartThings, and IFTTT.
- Please refer to the Zigbee Motor User Manual for pairing and limit-setting instructions.
Matter Motor
- Uses Matter over Thread for smart-home integration.
- Compatible with Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and SmartThings.
- A compatible Matter Controller / Thread Border Router is required. Many common smart-home devices already provide this function, including selected Apple TV, HomePod, Echo, Nest Hub, Nest Wifi Pro, and SmartThings Hub/Station models.
- No separate SenseBlinds or Tuya hub is required when your existing smart-home system already includes a compatible Matter/Thread device.
Remote Control
- Remote controls are sold separately.
- If your order includes one motorized shade and a compatible remote control, we will configure it with a single-channel remote.
- Before shipment, our factory will pair and configure the remote control with your motorized shade(s), so the remote will be ready to use when you receive your order.
- If you are ordering multiple motorized shades, you do not need to purchase a separate remote for every shade.
- One 15-channel remote can control up to 15 motorized shades or programmed groups.
- For example, multiple shades in the same room can be paired with the same 15-channel remote and controlled individually or together.
- Please indicate your preferred remote grouping in the Order Notes, or email us after placing your order.
Rechargeable Battery & Hardwired Option
- Motorized shades use a rechargeable lithium battery.
- A full charge typically provides approximately 6 months of use, depending on operating frequency and shade size.
- A 3-meter charging cable is included.
- Charging requires a standard 5V/2A USB power adapter; the wall adapter is not included.
- We do not recommend leaving the motor continuously connected to power, as this may reduce battery lifespan.
- If you prefer a hardwired motorized configuration, custom hardwired options are also available.
- Hardwired installation requires a power outlet near the window. Please email us before ordering so we can confirm the appropriate motor and wiring configuration for your project.

We had installed some wooden blinds that have small gaps between the slants. So significant light gets through and they don't really block the view that well. So for the bedroom shades I added this behind the wooden blinds between the window. They keep the room darker and more private. Easy to install and goes up and down smoothly.
2nd one I've order, perfect fit again and literally took 10 min to install, super easy, highly recommend and great quality.

I will be ordering again. The manufacturer contacted me several times to make sure the measurements were exact and helped with the process. The chain is a sturdy good quality that moves smoothly, the shade is thick and does resemble a linen pattern and sits impressively close to the window so the light gap is minimal. Order took a total of about a 8 days from the time I placed the order. Definitely worth the price.
We loved them so much we ordered them for the whole house. They are really nice and we absolutely love the look. Quality materials, easy to install, and even easier to operate. They have a nice chain that is used to raise and lower the shade. It doesn't hang freely, it is attached to the wall (or window casement) by a small clear clip. They definitely work to darken any room for sleeping or TV viewing. We would and may order them again anywhere we can figure out to use them. Great updated style for any room.

I would buy again. Working well for my son's room, however mis-measured, and they are right above molding around window--looks fine. However, would have been better if I put inside the window. The "black out" parts works well---gets the job done> and fairly easy to install.

I love these blinds. I order several of them in different sizes to keep the heat out of our rental house. The temps here reach well over 100 degrees in summer. They were easy to install and use. They are durable as they see a lot of traffic. They are thick enough to block the heat and the light. I have ordered these twice and am looking forward to ordering them in the future for my own house. They have a nice clean look to them.
Wow! If you are considering this purchase, DO IT! Like others have said...installation is a BREEZE. You clip in the blind, and can adjust it lengthwise after as well so it's easy to get it just right. I cannot tell you how many blinds and window treatments I have installed and it has always been such a hassle. The shade is beautiful and perfect and super easy to move up and down.

These roll up and down easily with a chain. I installed several of these in my RV and they look incredible. They also block 100% of light which is exactly what I wanted. Easy to install too. Definitely my favorite RV blind by far. Great quality and fast shipping, even on the custom size I needed.
We ordered three for a bedroom. One had a broken piece which the seller immediately replaced, very responsive. Easy to install and we love the look. We installed outer mount and it creates full black out. There is a gap if you install inner mount so you would need curtains on the sides for full black out effect. Highly recommend.
