Top-Down/Bottom-Up Cellular Shades
How TDBU Operation Works
TDBU shades feature two independent rails—a top rail and a bottom rail—each with its own lift mechanism. This gives you complete control over light and privacy:
-
Lower the top rail to admit light and air while keeping the bottom rail fully lowered for privacy
-
Raise the bottom rail conventionally while the top rail stays in place
-
Position both rails at any intermediate height
-
Fully raise or fully lower both rails for an unobstructed view or full coverage
This dual‑direction flexibility adapts to every lighting need throughout the day.
Ideal for Every Room
-
Street‑level living rooms — Light from above, privacy below
-
First‑floor bedrooms — Privacy for sleeping, gentle light for waking
-
Bathrooms — Daylight without exposure
-
Nurseries — Soft light for playtime, darkness for naps
-
Home offices — Glare‑free light from above, privacy for video calls
-
Sunrooms — Precise control over light and heat gain
Cordless Wand Operation
All TDBU cellular shades use cordless wand operation—no dangling cords, no loops. Two independent wands (one for each rail) attach magnetically and can be removed and stored out of reach. A gentle push or pull operates each rail independently. This system meets the highest child‑safety standards.

Thermal & Acoustic Benefits
TDBU shades provide the same thermal insulation and sound absorption as standard cellular shades. The honeycomb cells trap still air regardless of shade position, so you never sacrifice energy efficiency for flexibility.
