Vinyl Shades – Durable Value, Everyday Performance
What is Vinyl?
Vinyl (polyvinyl chloride, PVC) is a synthetic plastic polymer extruded into solid sheets for window‑covering applications. Unlike woven fabrics made from yarns, vinyl shades are cut from a continuous sheet, giving them unique performance advantages:
-
100% waterproof — No fibers to absorb moisture
-
Non‑porous — Resists stains, odors, and bacteria
-
Tear‑resistant — Will not snag or run
-
Dimensionally stable — Will not shrink or stretch
-
Cost‑effective — Lower material cost than woven polyester
Available Across Three Shade Styles
-
Vinyl Roller Shades — Smooth matte or embossed textures (linen, basketweave); light‑filtering, room‑darkening, blackout; most affordable option
-
Vinyl Zebra Shades — Precision‑printed zebra pattern with micro‑perforated sheer bands; 3" bands; light‑filtering, room‑darkening, blackout
-
Vinyl Cellular Shades — Single‑cell honeycomb construction; light‑filtering and room‑darkening (blackout not available in vinyl)
Each style uses the same durable, easy‑clean vinyl material with different aesthetic and functional characteristics.
Embossed Textures Available
To elevate vinyl beyond its basic appearance, we offer three embossed finishes on roller shades:
-
Linen — Subtle slub texture that mimics natural linen
-
Basketweave — Classic crisscross pattern for added dimension
-
Leathergrain — Fine pebble texture with a sophisticated, easy‑grip surface
These textures are permanently embossed during calendaring and will not wear off.
6 Standard Colors
Vinyl shades are available in six UV‑stabilized colors: Arctic White, Ivory, Light Grey, Greige, Taupe, Black. They will not yellow or fade. Custom colors are available for large‑volume orders (minimum 500 yards).

UL Certified Fire Retardant
All vinyl shades meet the UL 94 V‑0 flammability rating, self‑extinguishing within 10 seconds of flame removal—the highest vertical burn rating for plastics. They also comply with California Technical Bulletin 117‑2013 and NFPA 701. Certification documentation is available for commercial orders.
Cordless Wand Tilt Recommended
We recommend cordless wand tilt for vinyl shades. The wand attaches magnetically and can be removed and stored out of reach. No dangling cords, loops, or chains to corrode. Continuous cord loop and motorized operation are also available.
