UVShield Zebra Blinds
Two Levels of UV Protection
-
UVShield 88 — Blocks 88% of UVA and UVB radiation. Reduces fading by roughly 80% compared to unprotected windows. Ideal for most residential spaces. Available in 20+ colors.
-
UVShield 99 — Blocks 99% of UV radiation. Archival‑grade protection for museums, galleries, and fine‑art collections. Reduces fading by approximately 95%. Available in 8 light‑neutral colors.
Both technologies are integrated into the fiber during extrusion, not applied as topical coatings. The UV protection is permanent and guaranteed for the life of the shade.
Fiber‑Integrated Technology – Both Bands
Unlike UV‑blocking shades that treat only the sheer fabric, UVShield embeds UV absorbers into both the sheer and opaque bands. Your furnishings stay protected whether the shade is aligned, partially staggered, or fully closed. The absorbers are chemically bonded within the polyester polymer—they cannot wash off, wear away, or degrade with cleaning.
Clear View, Not Darkened Glass
Many UV‑control solutions—films, coatings, tinted glass—introduce visible color shifts such as amber, blue, or mirrored tones. UVShield is optically clear. The fabric looks identical to standard zebra shades, with no discernible color cast. Your view remains bright, natural, and true.
Ideal for Sun‑Exposed Rooms
UVShield shades are especially effective in spaces where sunlight is intense or prolonged:
-
Sunrooms and conservatories — Protect plants, textiles, and furnishings
-
South‑facing living rooms — Reduce fading of upholstery, rugs, and artwork
-
Art studios — Preserve works in progress
-
Retail displays — Protect merchandise from UV‑related degradation
Documentation for Insurance & Appraisals
Every UVShield order includes a certificate of UV protection documenting the tested performance of the specific fabric installed. This documentation can be submitted to insurers and appraisers to demonstrate that appropriate conservation measures are in place—potentially reducing premiums for fine‑art and collectibles policies.
