Uluru Complete Earth Series

The Uluru aesthetic is so distinctive that we have expanded it beyond light‑filtering into room‑darkening and blackout constructions. Now you can carry the soulful, earth‑toned palette throughout your entire home—from sun‑drenched living areas (light‑filtering) to serene bedrooms (blackout)—without sacrificing design continuity. The engineering challenge was preserving the unique color depth and nubby texture of Uluru while adding the dense interlayers required for light blockage. Our solution laminates the decorative face to a charcoal‑tinted blackout membrane that does not alter the perceived color of the face fabric. The blackout version has the same weight and hand as the light‑filtering version; the room‑darkening version (80% block) is even lighter. All colors are available across all opacities, with the exception of Kata Tjuta (red), which is offered only in light‑filtering due to pigment limitations. Custom‑sized to your exact window dimensions, with your choice of lift system.

Seamless Color Matching

Uluru Complete keeps the face fabric absolutely consistent across every opacity level. The exact same woven surface is used for light‑filtering, room‑darkening, and blackout; only the backing changes. Because the face fabric is substantial enough to accept lamination without distortion, the blackout and room‑darkening versions look identical from the room side. A Kata Tjuta blackout shade will read exactly like a Kata Tjuta light‑filtering shade—something not all collections can achieve.

Mixed Opacity Coordination

Open‑concept homes often need different opacities in adjacent spaces. With Uluru Complete, you can specify light‑filtering in a living area and blackout in a nearby bedroom, all in the same color. The blackout version is slightly thicker, but the difference is imperceptible once installed, giving the entire space a unified, intentional look.

Sustainable Fiber Blend (All Opacities)

Unlike many blackout fabrics that rely heavily on petroleum‑based materials, Uluru blackout retains the 30% viscose content in its face fabric. The blackout layer itself is polyethylene rather than PVC, which is recyclable and has a lower environmental impact. While the full shade isn’t biodegradable, the bio‑based viscose and PVC‑free construction reduce its overall footprint compared to conventional blackout textiles.

Global Neutral Palette

Though inspired by the Australian outback, Uluru’s colors have proven universally adaptable. They’ve been specified in mountain lodges, Mediterranean villas, and sleek urban apartments. These hues feel “of the earth” in a broad, human sense—tapping into biophilic instincts that resonate across cultures and climates.

Acoustic Properties

Uluru’s textured, nubby surface—even in blackout—provides excellent sound diffusion. The irregular weave scatters sound waves, reducing echo and softening reverberation. For media rooms, dens, or multipurpose living spaces where acoustic comfort matters, Uluru blackout shades offer a subtle but meaningful performance advantage.
