TripleCell 100% Blackout Zebra Fabric

Absolute Zero shades use our TripleCell blackout fabric for the opaque bands—three ultrasonically welded layers consisting of a decorative face, a dense black light‑absorbing core, and a white heat‑reflective backing. Independent testing confirms 0.00% light transmission through the opaque fabric. Even the sheer bands are blackout‑rated, transmitting less than 1% of visible light when aligned. When staggered, the bands overlap by ½ inch, forming a continuous, uncompromising blackout barrier.

Side Channels with Brush Seals

Our side channels are fabricated from 1.2 mm aluminum, custom‑cut to the exact drop of your shade. They mount to the jambs (inside mount) or wall (outside mount) and feature a U‑shaped profile lined with nylon brush pile. The shade glides smoothly within the channel while the brush pile compresses against the fabric edges, blocking light without adding friction. Channels are available in white, bronze, black, or custom powder‑coat finishes.

Magnetic Bottom Bar Seal

A flexible magnetic strip is embedded in the bottom bar, paired with a ferrous strip adhered to the sill. When the shade lowers, the magnets engage with a soft click, compressing the brush pile and creating a light‑tight bottom seal. For sills that cannot accept adhesive, we offer a weighted drop‑seal that drapes over the sill edge.

Top Seal Options

Even with side channels and a bottom seal, light can escape above the headrail. Our optional top seal—a flexible PVC extrusion—mounts to the top of the window frame and gently compresses against the headrail, eliminating overhead glow. It is color‑matched and nearly invisible once installed.
