Both the sheer panel and the blackout panel are genuine honeycomb shades, each with its own set of insulating cells. This means you're not just layering fabrics—you're layering two complete thermal barriers. When both shades are lowered, the combined R-value approaches that of a double-cell shade, significantly reducing heat transfer and noise transmission. Yet each panel operates independently, giving you the same instant light control as our standard DayNight system. The sheer panel features our 5% openness light-filtering fabric; the blackout panel features our TripleCell 100% blackout fabric. Dual Honeycomb Construction

Unlike dual shades that pair a cellular blackout panel with a non‑cellular sheer, DayNight Honeycomb features cellular construction on both panels. Each panel contains its own independently sealed honeycomb cells that trap still air. When both panels are lowered, you gain two full layers of insulation—approximately R‑4 to R‑6, depending on cell size.

Independent Operation

Both panels operate independently via separate lift mechanisms (cordless, wand, or motorized). Lower the sheer panel for soft daylight while keeping the blackout panel raised; lower the blackout panel for total darkness while keeping the sheer panel lifted; or lower both for maximum insulation and full blackout. No single‑layer shade offers this level of flexibility.

Ideal for Extreme Temperatures

DayNight Honeycomb shades excel on windows exposed to intense heat or cold. The dual‑layer cellular design creates a super‑insulating barrier that dramatically reduces heat transfer.
