Perimeter Light Sealing System
Complete Darkness Shades use a three‑part perimeter sealing system that eliminates every common source of light leakage:

Side Channels — 1.2mm aluminum channels mount to the window jambs and use nylon brush pile to contact the fabric edges, blocking side light. Each set is custom‑cut to the exact drop of your shade.

Magnetic Bottom Seal — A continuous magnetic strip inside the bottom bar connects to a ferrous sill strip, creating a tight compression seal.

Top Seal (optional) — A flexible PVC extrusion mounts to the top of the window frame and compresses against the headrail.
Together, these components eliminate edge, bottom, and top light leaks.

Every Complete Darkness Shade begins with our certified 100% blackout fabric.

Roller & zebra shades use our TripleCell™ laminate (decorative face, black core, white backing).

Zebra and sheer shades are not available due to inherent light gaps in their mechanisms.
Motorization Required
Because of the added weight of the side channels, magnetic bottom bar, and the precision needed for a true blackout seal, Complete Darkness Shades are motorized only. High‑torque motors are calibrated for the resistance of brush seals and magnetic breakaway force. Battery (3–5 year life) and hardwired options are available.
