Daylight Filtering Collection
Range of Openness Factors
Not all “light filtering” performs the same. Our collection is organized by openness factor—the percentage of the fabric that is open space.
-
3% Openness: maximum privacy with minimal view‑through; ideal for ground‑floor bedrooms.
-
5% Openness: excellent privacy with a soft, airy feel; our most popular choice for living areas.
-
8% Openness: clearer view‑through with moderate glare control; perfect for sunrooms and garden windows.
-
12% Openness: an open, almost‑sheer weave; best for spaces where the view is the priority.
This lets you choose the exact balance of daylight and privacy your space requires.
UV Protection Without Darkness
Clear glass provides no UV defense. Even at 12% openness, our light‑filtering fabrics block 80–90% of UV radiation. The protection comes from UV‑absorbing compounds integrated into the polyester fibers during extrusion—not from surface coatings—so it never washes off or degrades. Your floors, textiles, and artwork stay vibrant far longer.
View‑Through Clarity
Many light‑filtering fabrics blur the outside world, creating a frosted‑glass effect. Our premium constructions use high‑clarity yarns that preserve crisp detail. You’ll see leaves, branches, and skyline contours—not vague silhouettes. This is especially appreciated in homes with gardens, water views, or cityscapes.
Static‑Free Dust Repellent
Standard polyester builds static, which attracts dust. Our fabrics incorporate a permanent anti‑static additive that dissipates charge and reduces dust accumulation by up to 70%. Shades stay cleaner longer, with fewer wipe‑downs required. The treatment is non‑migrating and lasts for the life of the product.
Coordinated Blackout Options
For open‑concept homes, the Daylight Filtering Collection is designed to visually coordinate with our Eclipse Blackout Collection. Many colors and textures are available in both constructions, allowing you to maintain a unified palette across rooms with different light‑control needs. Designers love this continuity—and homeowners do too.
