RecessFit Inside Mount Roman Shades
⅛‑Inch Precision Cutting
RecessFit is built for installers who demand exactness. While most shade manufacturers cut to a ¼‑inch tolerance, our CNC‑guided cutting stations produce components accurate to ±0.125 inches. For projects where perfection truly matters—historic millwork, stone casings, ultra‑tight recesses—we offer precision trimming to ±1/16 inch. Your order confirmation includes a detailed dimensional diagram showing finished width, drop, and bracket placement so you know exactly what will arrive.
Minimum Recess Depth Requirements
Inside‑mount romans need enough recess depth to house the headrail and operating system.
-
Standard headrail: requires 2 inches of depth
-
Slim‑line headrail: requires only 1.25 inches (compatible with cordless and continuous cord loop; not available for motorization)
Our online system automatically checks your recess depth against your selected hardware to prevent mis‑specification.
Bracket Concealment
Traditional inside‑mount brackets can peek out from behind the shade, interrupting the clean architectural line of the recess. RecessFit brackets use a low‑profile L‑shaped design that mounts to the top of the recess, with the vertical leg hidden behind the headrail fabric. Once installed, the brackets disappear completely—only the fabric and bottom bar remain visible.
Snap‑In Installation
RecessFit brackets use a two‑part system: a metal base plate that screws into the top of the recess, and a snap‑in tab attached to the headrail. The shade simply clicks into place, no tools required. Removal is just as easy for cleaning or maintenance. All screw heads are concealed once the shade is installed, preserving a seamless look.
Light Gap Management
Even with precision cutting, inside‑mount shades typically leave a ¼‑inch gap on each side. For clients who require total darkness—bedrooms, nurseries, media rooms—we offer side channel kits that mount to the jambs and block peripheral light. They’re available in matching finishes and integrate cleanly with the RecessFit system.
Custom Returns for Odd Recesses
Not every recess is perfectly rectangular. For curved, angled, or irregular openings, we can fabricate a custom return that matches the exact contour of your window. This requires a detailed template, and our team will guide you through the process step‑by‑step. Additional fabrication time and charges apply, but the result is a shade that fits like it was built into the architecture.
