RecessFit Inside Mount Cellular Shades
⅛‑Inch Precision Cutting
Most shade manufacturers cut to ¼‑inch accuracy, which can leave visible gaps or force installers to “eyeball” the fit. RecessFit shades are produced on CNC‑controlled cutting stations that measure and cut every component to ±0.125 inches. For critical installations, we offer precision trimming to ±1/16 inch. Your order confirmation includes a detailed diagram showing exact width, drop, and bracket placement.
Minimum Recess Depth Requirements
Inside‑mount cellular shades require adequate recess depth to house the headrail and operating system.
-
Standard headrail — Requires 2 inches of depth
-
Slim‑line headrail — Requires only 1.25 inches (compatible with cordless and continuous cord loop; not available for motorization or double‑cell fabrics)
Our online ordering system automatically verifies your recess depth against your selected hardware.
Bracket Concealment
Standard inside‑mount brackets are often visible from the front, interrupting the clean line of the recess. RecessFit brackets use a low‑profile L‑shaped design that mounts to the top of the recess, with the vertical leg hidden behind the headrail. Once installed, the brackets are completely concealed—only the honeycomb fabric and bottom rail remain visible.
Snap‑In Installation
RecessFit brackets use a two‑part system: a metal base plate that screws into the top of the recess, and a snap‑in tab attached to the headrail. The shade clicks securely into place without tools and can be removed instantly for cleaning or maintenance. All screw heads are hidden behind the shade.
Light Gap Management
Even with precision cutting, inside‑mount shades typically leave a small light gap—about ¼ inch on each side. For clients requiring zero light leakage, we offer side channel kits that mount to the window jambs and block peripheral light. These channels are available in matching finishes and are ideal for bedrooms and media rooms.
Custom Returns for Odd Recesses
If your window recess is not perfectly rectangular—curved, angled, or irregular—we can fabricate a custom return that matches the exact contour of the opening. This requires a detailed template; our customer service team will guide you through the templating process. Additional charges apply.
