Fade Protection Shades – Preserve Your Interiors
Two Levels of UV Protection
-
UVShield 88 — Blocks 88% of UVA and UVB radiation. Reduces fading by approximately 80% compared to unprotected windows. Ideal for most residential applications. Available in 30+ colors.
-
UVShield 99 — Blocks 99% of UV radiation. Archival‑grade protection for museums, galleries, and fine art collections. Reduces fading by approximately 95%. Available in 8 light‑neutral colors.
Both technologies are integrated into the fiber during extrusion—not applied as topical coatings—and are guaranteed for the life of the shade.
Fiber‑Integrated Technology – Permanent Protection
Unlike topical UV coatings that can wear off, wash away, or migrate over time, UVShield fabrics incorporate UV absorbers directly into the polyester polymer before extrusion. The absorbers are embedded throughout the fiber cross‑section, ensuring permanent, uniform protection that cannot be washed off, degraded by cleaning, or cause unwanted color shifts.

Clear View, Not Darkened Glass
Many UV‑blocking solutions—films, coatings, tinted glass—introduce visible color casts (amber, blue, mirrored). UVShield fabrics are optically clear, appearing identical to standard non‑UV fabrics with no discernible shift. Your view remains bright, accurate, and unobstructed.
Documentation for Insurance & Appraisals
Each fade‑protection shade order includes a certificate of UV performance documenting the tested protection level of the installed fabric. This documentation can be submitted to insurers and appraisers to demonstrate proper conservation measures, potentially reducing premiums for fine art and collectibles policies.
