SureGlide Cord Loop Sheer Shades

Sheer shades on expansive windows—sliding glass doors, picture windows, great rooms—can be too wide or heavy for cordless mechanisms. Continuous cord loop operation provides the mechanical advantage needed to rotate vanes and lift the shade smoothly and effortlessly. Our SureGlide system uses a geared drive and a continuous nylon loop. Rotating the loop in one direction opens the vanes; rotating in the opposite direction closes them. Pulling down on one side lowers the shade; pulling the other side raises it. The shade stays precisely where you stop it, with no drifting. The loop is fitted with a breakaway tassel that separates under tension, eliminating strangulation hazards—a critical safety feature for homes with children and pets. SureGlide is available on all 2-inch and 2.5-inch vane sheer shades. Custom‑sized to your exact window dimensions. Heavy shades shouldn't require heavy effort.

Heavy‑Duty Geared Mechanism

Continuous cord loop systems transfer torque through a precision‑cut metal gearbox, not a basic spring clutch. This allows the mechanism to support fabric weights up to 35 pounds and vane widths up to 144 inches. The gearing provides a 3:1 mechanical advantage, reducing the effort required to rotate the vanes by 66% compared to a standard tilt wand. All internal components are permanently lubricated and tested to 25,000 cycles for long‑term reliability.

Ideal for Wide & Oversized Windows

Sheer shades on sliding glass doors and expansive picture windows can be difficult to operate with cordless or wand‑based systems. Continuous cord loop delivers consistent tilt and lift force regardless of width, making it the preferred solution for large‑scale residential and commercial installations. The loop hangs neatly to one side and can be secured with a wall‑mounted cleat.

Child Safety First

Traditional continuous loops can pose a hazard if not properly tensioned. Our SureGlide system features a breakaway tassel that meets all CPSC safety requirements. If a child becomes entangled, the tassel separates under 5 pounds of force, releasing the loop and eliminating the risk of strangulation. It snaps back together easily—no tools or replacement parts required. For added safety, a tension device is also available for wall or sill mounting.

Integrated Tilt & Lift

SureGlide integrates tilt and lift into a single cord loop. A patented clutch mechanism distinguishes between rotational movement (tilt) and vertical pull (lift), creating an intuitive, streamlined user experience. No separate controls to learn or manage.

Quiet, Smooth Operation

The SureGlide gear train is engineered for acoustic comfort. Nylon‑on‑nylon contact surfaces minimize the grinding noise common in economy cord loops. A built‑in friction brake holds the vanes at any angle without slipping—even on angled installations. The loop itself is woven from durable polyester that resists fraying and is available in white, grey, or clear.

Retrofit‑Friendly

If you already own sheer shades with a standard tilt wand and lift cord, you can upgrade to SureGlide continuous cord loop using a retrofit kit. Each kit includes a new clutch mechanism, cord loop, and breakaway tassel. Installation takes about 20 minutes with basic tools.
